The National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) has awarded Judson Kleinman, founder of Corporate Essentials, the title of 2026 Coffee Legend of the Year in recognition of his significant contributions to the coffee services industry and his dedication to enhancing customer experiences. Christine Cochran, NAMA’s president and CEO, praised Kleinman for embodying the award’s values, highlighting his industry commitment, innovative mindset, and genuine concern for people. His tenure has fostered long-term relationships and continuous improvements within the industry.
Kleinman’s career began in the convenience services sector in 1985, leading him to establish Corporate Essentials in 1996. His vision focused on enhancing the employee experience through improved coffee services, which evolved into a comprehensive workplace refreshment business that includes pantry services, micro markets, dining, and catering, providing approximately 3,000 products. He was an early distributor of Keurig in New Jersey and expanded Corporate Essentials’ offerings with Essential Coffee Co. and Java Café, introducing specialty and locally roasted coffees to workplaces in the New York metropolitan area.
His influence extends beyond his company; Kleinman has actively participated in industry events, facilitated knowledge-sharing opportunities for his team, and fostered a robust network of industry connections. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he organized weekly calls for business leaders, promoting solidarity and information sharing during challenging times.
In addition to professional accolades, Kleinman is committed to philanthropy, receiving the Pillar of Kindness Award in 2021 from the Chabad Center of Northwest New Jersey. He has been recognized as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalist and has propelled Corporate Essentials onto the Inc. 5000 list multiple times. Kleinman will be honored at the CTW event on November 18-19 in Austin, Texas, which aims to foster collaborative discussions among operators and suppliers regarding the evolving workplace, client relationships, and the future of coffee and pantry services.
