StoneX Acquires Colombian Green Coffee Processor and Exporter Integra – CoffeeTalk
Global financial services and commodities firm StoneX Group has announced its agreement to acquire Integra, a Colombian green coffee processor and exporter, which will enhance StoneX’s coffee operations within Colombia. This acquisition will be executed through StoneX’s trading business situated in Switzerland, integrating Integra into the StoneX Supply and Trading division focused on physical commodities. The financial details of the agreement remain undisclosed.
Integra, established in 2015 by coffee trader Manuel Rueda, operates its La Bonita coffee mill located in Amagá, Antioquia, approximately 40 kilometers from Medellín. Additionally, Integra has a sales operation in Miami, alongside a sourcing network spanning regions including Cauca, Huila, Tolima, Risaralda, and Quindío. The company made its initial exports to the U.S. in 2016 and subsequently invested in the La Bonita mill, reporting an export volume of around 100,000 60-kilogram bags in 2020, which increased to over 200,000 bags by 2022. The La Bonita mill holds several certifications, including Organic, Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade International, Fair Trade USA 4C, and Colombia’s Protected Geographical Indication, further emphasizing its commitment to quality and sustainability.
For StoneX, this transaction represents an acquisition of an established export operation and physical processing facility. The deal is seen as a strategic move to bolster its coffee trading sector, which has witnessed rapid growth since its inception in 2020. Brent Grecian, CEO of StoneX Supply and Trading, highlighted that Integra provides StoneX with direct presence in Colombia as a licensed exporter, equipped with its own processing mill and a team with extensive grower relationships. This integration is expected to enhance StoneX’s offerings by enabling a more direct, traceable, and sustainable supply chain right from the origin.
Integra’s Manuel Rueda has confirmed that the company’s existing team and sourcing model will be maintained post-transaction. StoneX is well-regarded globally, not only for its coffee trading but also for its broad financial services and commodities trading activities, encompassing futures trading, hedging, and risk management. Formerly known as INTL FCStone, the company rebranded to StoneX in 2020. StoneX also acquired Mercon Specialty in 2024, establishing StoneX Specialty Coffee, and was further expanded in 2025 with the establishment of a dedicated green coffee hub in Kansas City, featuring warehousing, a cupping lab, and facilities for roasting and training.
