Launceston café giving away free coffee for life – BeanScene

To celebrate a decade under its current ownership, Launceston‘s Samuel Pepy’s Café is giving away free coffee for life to one lucky winner – they’ve just got to be good with numbers.

Co-owner Jason Shelley is asking customers to count the amount of antique spoons decorating the walls of the George Street venue. Those within 25 of the answer will be entered into a draw, with the lucky winner earning one free coffee per visit for as long as the venue is in operation.

Customers earn one entry with each coffee purchased and two when dining. Jason says he counted the spoons twice to ensure he got the number correct.

The winner will be drawn on Melbourne Cup Day on 3 November.

Samuel Pepy’s collection of antique spoons has become a symbol of the café over the years. Named after the English writer and politician, the gluten-free venue describes its design as “old-world decor”.
