US Coffee Championships Announces 2027 Season Will See Return of Regional Formats – CoffeeTalk

The 2027 U.S. Coffee Championships season will implement a dual-structure format that incorporates both regional qualifiers and direct registration for the National Championships. Four specific championships—namely, the U.S. Barista Championship, U.S. Brewers Cup Championship, U.S. Coffee Roasters Championship, and U.S. Cup Tasters Championship—will require participants to first compete in regional qualifying events before they can advance to the National Championship. In contrast, two other competitions, the U.S. Latte Art Championship and U.S. Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, will allow direct registration for the National Championship without regional qualifications. This strategic format aims to create meaningful competitive pathways while ensuring a high-quality experience for all stakeholders involved, including competitors, judges, volunteers, and the broader specialty coffee community.
