The Coffee Trust Announces New Way to Buy Fairtrade Organic Green Coffee From Asociación Chajulense – CoffeeTalk

Santa Fe, NM — May 28, 2026 — The Coffee Trust, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering coffee-farming communities, has announced a new green coffee sourcing initiative in partnership with Asociación Chajulense, the local fairtrade, organic coffee association in San Gaspar Chajul, Guatemala. For the first time, coffee roasters and industry buyers can purchase Asociación Chajulense Green Coffee directly through this initiative, with proceeds channeled back into local community-led programs.

The initiative marks a new milestone in a deep, long-standing relationship. The Coffee Trust has been collaborating with the coffee farmers of Asociación Chajulense since 2008, working together to support local economies and advance sustainable agriculture. This new coffee-buying alternative deepens that connection, allowing roasters to make a tangible, long-term investment in farmer resilience.

In alignment with The Coffee Trust’s mission of supporting community development, the proceeds generated from these green coffee sales will directly fund ongoing, grassroots programs. These initiatives span critical agricultural, educational, and economic projects not only in San Gaspar Chajul, but in the partner communities of San Juan La Laguna and Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala.

Grown at 1,000 to 1,800 meters by the fairtrade and organic certified farmers of Asociación Chajulense in San Gaspar Chajul, El Quiché, Guatemala, Chajulense coffee delivers a beautifully sweet and rounded cup profile characterized by distinct, complex notes of prune, molasses, cherry, and nougat.

Roasters interested in purchasing Asociación Chajulense Green Coffee, requesting samples, or learning more about pricing and availability are encouraged to contact The Coffee Trust directly at (505) 699-7682.
