Portugal will host its first ever World of Coffee event in 2027, with the nation’s capital of Lisbon selected to host next year’s World of Coffee Europe.

Hosted at the Lisbon Exhibition and Congress Centre (FIL), the venue combines contemporary space with flexible event infrastructure in the heart of the Parque das Nações district.

Specialty Coffee Association CEO, Yannis Apostolopoulos, says Portugal’s position as a traditional bridge between Europe, Latin America, and Africa places its capital in a unique position as a gathering place for global coffee professionals.

“World of Coffee exists to bring our global industry together in a way that creates real value for businesses, for professionals, and for the future of specialty coffee,” says Yannis.

“Lisbon is a city that understands that kind of exchange. It sits at the intersection of cultures and trade relationships that are fundamental to our value chain, and it has a coffee culture as authentic as the city itself.

“This is the type of environment where the most transformative thinking thrives. The conversations at World of Coffee Lisbon will shape how our industry innovates, collaborates, and builds the resilience and sustainability that specialty coffee demands in the years ahead.”

World of Coffee Lisbon will also host three World Coffee Championship events – the World Latte Art Championship, the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, and the Cezve/Ibrik Championship.

World of Coffee Europe 2026 will be hosted from June 25 to 27 in Brussels. Previous host cities in recent years include Geneva in 2025, Copenhagen in 2024, and Athens in 2023.
