The Coffee Club offering free coffee to customers – BeanScene
Coffee chain The Coffee Club is taking a novel approach to bring new customers through its doors, with all customers who bring a takeaway coffee cup from another café into one of its stores to be given a free coffee.
The week-long activation is part of the chain’s new guarantee, where if a customer’s drink isn’t “right”, it will be made again free of charge. The new policy, named the Coffee Guarantee spans 16 espresso-based drinks.
The Coffee Club General Manager of Marketing and Product, Nikki Price, says it is important to build brand loyalty in today’s age of more complex coffee orders.
“Coffee orders have never been more complex – alternative milks, cold brews, cold foams, creative flavours, and more,” says Nikki.
“That’s exciting, but it raises the bar on service. Fixing a coffee on the spot, for free, no fuss – it’s how we want to build real trust and loyalty.”
The Coffee Club says it has trained more than 1200 baristas to industry standards across Australia in the past two years.
It announced the first change to its blend in 35 years back in 2024, and appointed Richard Hinson as its new CEO in October 2025.
