SCA introduces “apex of professional coffee education” program – BeanScene
The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has introduced a new qualification, which it is calling “the apex of professional coffee education”, the Master of Specialty Coffee.
This new qualification, according to the SCA, is “a credential designed for the professionals who have spent their careers working across every dimension of [the] industry”.
Eligibility for the Master of Specialty Coffee qualification is based on four components: all four SCA diplomas, a current Q Grader licence, relevant industry experience, and professional recommendations.
Eligible applicants will then be required to pass a 100-point knowledge check exam, before being invited to interview.
The five-day program culminates in four exams – three case study-based assessments and one communication exam.
