Queensland coffee fundraiser hailed as success – BeanScene

A fundraiser held to help Queensland’s three 2026 Australian coffee champions chase their dreams has been hailed as a success by Coffee Mentality’s Ian Abadiano, who says the event raised more than $2000.

The event, held on 14 March, was hosted by Coffee Mentality and featured ASCA Latte Art Champion Amy Zhang, Cup Tasters Champion Karl Lee, and Roasting Champion Danny Andrade.

It kicked off with a live Q&A session with the trio, before each showcased their disciplines through interactive sessions.

“I dreamt of this moment, I’m overwhelmed by the support – not just from the coffee community, but also from the wider public,” says Ian.

“It was incredible to see support from the business community too, through the likes of Minas Hill, International Coffee Traders, Brewing Brands, and The Alternative Dairy Co.

“It shows that when it matters, our industry can truly come together.”
