Iced coffee category leader launches new product – BeanScene
Bega Group has labelled cafés as a “real inspiration” behind the release of new Dare Iced Coffee sachets, which will be available in Coles stores from 25 May.
The new product is already available at independent grocers around Australia, and come in Espresso, Double Espresso, and Mocha flavours.
Bega Group, says the sachets contain no milk powder, enabling consumers to build their “perfect cup” with dairy or plant-based milks.
Marketing Manager – Iced Coffee at Bega Group, Patrick Davis, says providing consumers a platform to trial their own creations has been a key driver of the new product release.
“We’re seeing people take real inspiration from cafés and social media, experimenting with flavour and presentation in everyday settings, whether that’s at home, at work, or on a holiday,” says Patrick.
“The coffee sachet aisle has traditional been about practicality over personality, so we saw a real opportunity to do something very Dare.”
Dare Iced Coffee was first launched in Melbourne in 1996. It’s most recent major product pivot prior to the launch of coffee sachets was the release of its first dairy-free iced coffee in 2024, which used oat milk instead of dairy.
It has previously been the national market leader by volume in the iced coffee market, which now features significant competition from the likes of Suntory’s Boss Coffee.
