Clay Coffee Cups Offered as Greener Option at California Cafes

California-based Verve Coffee Roasters is introducing a ceramic disposable cup as an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional coffee cups. The company aims to reduce waste by offering a more eco-friendly option for customers. The ceramic cups, made from clay, water, and a small amount of salt, are made from natural reoccurring minerals and do not need to be thrown in recycling bins. The idea is not entirely new, as ceramics have been used for centuries. If successful, the concept could change the way dining establishments serve their food, but the first step is to encourage others to start their day with a green cup of coffee.
