Allpress celebrates new roastery with limited edition release – BeanScene
Allpress Espresso is celebrating the opening of its new Melbourne roastery in Reservoir with the release of a limited special release coffee: Colombia Finca Patio Bonito.
Now fully operational and in full swing of production, the new Allpress Espresso Reservoir Roastery represents a major milestone for Allpress in Australia, bringing roasting, quality control and wholesale operations together under one roof.
To mark the occasion, Allpress has selected a naturally processed Pacamara from Finca Patio Bonito in Cauca, Colombia. Available in limited 200-gram quantities, the coffee has been chosen to showcase the clarity, balance and iconic flavour profile that sit at the heart of the Allpress roasting philosophy.
“At Allpress, everything starts with flavour,” says Cam MacFadyen.
“The new Reservoir roastery has been purpose-built to help us continue delivering the quality, consistency and iconic flavour we’re known for, while also giving us the opportunity to celebrate exceptional coffees like Colombia Finca Patio Bonito in a really special way.”
Roasted using Allpress’ signature hot air roasting technology, Colombia Finca Patio Bonito highlights the precision and control behind the company’s roasting approach.
“This coffee is expressive, elegant and incredibly refined,” says MacFadyen.
“There’s sparkling ume acidity, layered raspberry sweetness and a delicate Earl Grey finish. It’s a coffee that reflects the level of care that has gone into every stage, from production at origin through to roasting here in Melbourne.”
The coffee was sourced through long-time green bean partners Café Imports and marks the second lot Allpress has purchased from producers Paola and Carlos Trujillo at Finca Patio Bonito.
Located in the hills of Caldono, Cauca, Finca Patio Bonito is a family-run farm founded by Carlos Arturo Trujillo nearly 50 years ago. Today, the farm is recognised for its commitment to quality, innovation and progressive processing techniques.
Since 2022, Carlos’ daughter Paola Trujillo has helped lead innovation across the farm’s fermentation and processing methods, refining both washed and natural coffees through techniques including thermal shock and anaerobic modulation.
With just nine hectares of coffee cultivation spanning 13 varietals, each lot at Finca Patio Bonito is meticulously produced and carefully processed.
“This is a relationship we’re incredibly proud of,” says MacFadyen.
“Paola and Carlos are producing coffees with genuine passion, precision and deep expertise. Colombia Finca Patio Bonito is a beautiful reflection of that work, and we’re excited to continue sharing coffees like this with our customers.”
Designed specifically for filter brewing, Colombia Finca Patio Bonito is now available through Allpress cafés its online webstore.
