A group of Pacific coffee producers have generated AU$3.3 million in projected sales following their appearance at Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) 2026, highlighting the event’s role as a key meeting point for global coffee trade and industry connection.

Part of the three-day expo’s Trip to Origin activation, the Pacific delegation brought together 16 producers from Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, and Samoa to connect with international buyers and showcase the diversity of coffees grown across the region.

The commercial success reinforces MICE’s position as a leading business platform for the specialty coffee sector, providing producers with direct access to roasters, importers, and industry decision-makers from across Australia and beyond.

Supported by the International Trade Centre’s UK Trade Partnerships Programme (UKTP) in collaboration with the Australia-Papua New Guinea Economic Partnership Programme (APEP), the delegation’s participation extended beyond the exhibition floor. Producers were supported through pre-event training webinars, a Melbourne roastery visit, an export-focused panel discussion, and cupping sessions that allowed buyers and coffee professionals to experience a range of Pacific-grown coffees.

The $3.3 million in projected sales represents one of the most significant commercial outcomes achieved through a Pacific coffee showcase supported under the UKTP to date. More than $444,000 was confirmed in contracts signed during the expo itself, with two further full containers of Pacific coffee sold just weeks after the event.

MICE enables producers to move beyond product exposure into meaningful commercial conversations, helping strengthen relationships between coffee-growing communities and international markets. Trip to Origin is set to return to MICE in 2027.
