Starbucks Australia launches new protein range – BeanScene
Starbucks Australia has unveiled a new protein menu, targeting customers who are looking for more options to personalise their drinks.
Following a successful trial in a small number of locations, the brand’s protein foam and protein-boosted milk – which can be added to any coffee, tea, Iced Shaken Espresso, or Frappuccino – has been rolled out nationwide.
Starbucks CEO, Braeden Lord, says he expects a strong customer response to the new range.
“With our extensive range of Protein Cold Foams and Protein-Boosted Milk, we’re putting more control in our customers’ hands, without compromising on taste,” says Braeden.
“We’re always looking for new ways to innovate and give our customers more choice when it comes to personalising their drinks.
“They really love to customise, whether it is adding Vanilla to their Iced Latte or a scoop of Java Chips to their Matcha Frappuccino, and we expect this new launch will be exciting for many.”
Starbucks says it has selected UProtein protein powder as the base for its new protein menu, with the unflavoured, dairy-based option enabling the brand to offer Protein Cold Foam flavours including vanilla, caramel, salted caramel, hazelnut, chocolate, matcha, strawberry, brown sugar, chai, and unflavoured options.
It says now, for example, customers can order an iced matcha with protein-boosted milk and caramel protein cold foam, which will contain more than 35 grams of protein.
Protein foam can be added to drinks for $2, with protein-boosted milk to be added for $1. They have been available since 5 May.
