Keurig Dr Pepper's Current Coffee Head to Step Down While Company Searches for New Lead of Upcoming Global Coffee Co – CoffeeTalk
Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. (NASDAQ: KDP) has announced that Rafa Oliveira, currently leading the Coffee Operating Unit, will resign at the end of July to pursue a CEO position elsewhere. This change comes as the company prepares for a planned separation into two independent businesses, slated for completion by early 2027. In light of Oliveira’s departure, the board is initiating a search for the future chief executive officer of the upcoming Global Coffee Co., which will focus solely on coffee operations. Pamela Patsley, the chair of KDP’s board, will oversee this search and is expected to chair the board of Global Coffee Co. post-separation.
Tim Cofer, KDP’s current CEO, will temporarily manage the coffee segment until a permanent successor is appointed, while also leading the ongoing preparations for the corporate separation. Following the transaction, Cofer is anticipated to become the CEO of Beverage Co., the entity that will include the beverage operations of KDP.
In conjunction with the leadership transition, Keurig Dr Pepper reaffirmed its financial outlook for 2026, predicting net sales between $25.9 billion and $26.4 billion, along with adjusted diluted earnings per share growth in the low double-digit percentage range, based on non-GAAP measures. The strategic breakup aims to establish distinct operational structures for the coffee and beverage segments, and investors are closely monitoring developments regarding leadership and strategic directions for both businesses leading up to the 2027 separation.
