Brew Bomb Inventor Alleges to Have Been Ousted from His Own Company – CoffeeTalk
Ray Buerger, a former custom homebuilder and inventor of a unique cold brew coffee maker called Brew Bomb, claims to have been effectively ousted from his own company, Gunga LLC, after selling a 55% stake to Torr Industries for $225,000 in 2024. Originally, Buerger established Gunga in 2018, achieving significant success with $1.2 million in revenue by 2021, positioning Gunga as a leader in the specialty cold brew coffee equipment market.
Despite initial expectations, the partnership with Torr Industries has not met Buerger’s claims. Torr was supposed to address a $750,000 Small Business Administration loan and infuse Gunga with an additional $150,000 for recapitalization; however, these financial commitments have reportedly not been fulfilled. Instead, Buerger alleges Torr ceased production of his coffee machines, incorporated his innovations into their products, and exploited his customer list to promote their machines directly to his clientele.
Buerger currently holds 45% ownership of Gunga but alleges he has been denied access to its financial records, prompting him to file a lawsuit against Torr Industries in Denver for breaches of contract, fiduciary duty, and good faith dealings. In response, Torr’s CEO Tim Orr dismissed the allegations as inaccurate, and the company declined further comment due to the ongoing litigation.
