Rhea Vendors Group and Neolix Introduce Barista on Demand, an Unmanned 24/7 Mobile Coffee Delivery Vehicle Powered by AI – CoffeeTalk
Barista on Demand, a mobile coffee station integrating automatic coffee machines with an unmanned vehicle, has been developed by Rhea Vendors Group and Neolix. The system recently received a 2025 Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies.
The Barista on Demand model allows consumers to order coffee via a mobile application for delivery to various locations, including homes, offices, or while on the go.
The system is designed to provide coffee service on demand and interacts with users through an artificial intelligence-generated avatar of coffee expert Andrea Lattuada. Its developers describe the approach as shifting the coffee experience from a “go-to-shop” model to a “shop-to-customer” model.
Andrea Pozzolini, CEO of Rhea Vendors Group, commented on the initiative, stating, “With Barista on Demand we open the way to new perspectives in consumption. We have combined Italian design and our 60 years of experience in the coffee sector with mobility, autonomous driving, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to provide a top-class coffee experience that looks to the cities of the future.”
The automated and connected coffee station is presented as a retail delivery model and is intended to offer personalized service directly to consumers. Its proponents suggest it outlines a business model for new retail.
