Sydney photo exhibition celebrates people in coffee – BeanScene

On 11 September, Julian Photography is hosting exhibition Behind the Cup at The Roasting Club in Sydney.

Shot at The Roasting Club‘s Roselands facility, the series of six photographs follows coffee’s journey from green bean to final cup.

“By the time a warm cup reaches your hands, so many people and so much care have already gone into it,” says Julian. “I wanted people to look at their coffee a little differently, and to feel the whole journey behind it.”

The local photographer says the images celebrate the chain of people who make each cup possible – from the farmers who grow the beans to the roasters and tasters who bring out their flavour.

The exhibition is open to the public and free to attend. It takes place from 3pm to 5pm on Friday 11 September at The Roasting Club (102 Rogers Street, 2196).

Julian Photography specialises in commercial photography. Behind the Cup is a personal project from founder Julian, exploring his passion for the craft behind the everyday ritual of coffee.
