Stronghold unveils S2 micro-batch roaster – BeanScene
Stronghold Robotics has launched its new S2 coffee roaster worldwide. The international launch follows its success in the Korean and Chinese markets, where it sold more than 500 units in its first year of availability.
The micro-batch roaster can roast batches of coffee from 80 grams to 300 grams, with Stronghold stating its best applications range from small cafés who want to roast some of their own beans, for competitors and professionals hoping to zone in on the perfect roast, and for producers at origin looking to gain a production-level understanding of coffee quality.
The S2 features a significantly upgraded Dual Heat System that has been designed to deliver a 200 per cent increase in convection heat and 3.3x more radiant intensity compared to existing products.
Stronghold CEO, Jason Woo, says the S2 throws open the door to new capabilities in roasting.
“The S2 represents a new era of ‘unrestricted roasting’, where the ability to craft world-class coffee is no longer dictated by the limitations of the equipment, but only by the imagination of the user.”
Stronghold says Jason’s sentiments are echoed by seven-time Canada Barista Champion and 2025 World Barista Championship finalist, Ben Put.
Stronghold will showcase the S2 at World of Coffee San Diego, before showcasing it at World of Coffee Bangkok in May and World of Coffee Brussels in June.
