The Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) has partnered with the Restaurant and Catering Australia (R&CA) for the third year.

Heading into the 2027 show, the renewed partnership brings together two of the industry’s key players at a time where costs, staffing, and margins are placing significant pressures on café owners.

As part of the collaboration, R&CA members will receive a 25 per cent discount on MICE 2027 tickets, covering full access to the show floor, all Café Education Series sessions, and cupping experiences and presentations as part of the Trip to Origin feature.

The offer will be distributed through R&CA’s members channels.

National President of R&CA John Hart OAM says coffee sits at the heart of how thousands of the association’s members run their businesses.

“MICE puts our members in the same room as the entire supply chain across three days. Last year the event drew more than 14,000 unique visitors, and café owners made up over a third of them, so it’s a rare chance to compare suppliers, test new equipment and learn from operators facing the same cost and staffing pressures,” he says.

“MICE is where that whole community comes together in one place, from roasters and equipment suppliers through to the operators making decisions about their menus and their margins. Staying partnered with MICE keeps us close to the people we represent and to the conversations that affect their bottom line.”

He adds different elements of the show, such as the Café Education Series, speak to the different needs of R&CA members.

“It goes straight to the questions members raise with us most, from pricing and profitability through to staffing and day to day operations. Those are the connections and the practical knowledge that move a business forward,” says John.

MICE 2027 runs from 4 to 6 March at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
