KFC brings breakfast to two states – BeanScene

KFC Australia has confirmed its new breakfast menu is now available in Victoria and Queensland following its successful trial at Sydney Airport.

A total of 29 locations – 16 on the Gold Coast and 13 in Melbourne’s CBD – will now offer the range, which was first trialled in 2026.

The initial wider launch of the menu was first announced back in July 2016.

The fast-food chain has been on the slower side to launch a breakfast menu, with rival McDonald’s first offering breakfast in 1987, with the creation of McCafé in 1993 adding coffee to the line-up.

Hungry Jack’s first started offering breakfast in late 2005, while Guzman y Gomez, which was only founded in 2006, started offering it in 2018.

“The next chapter for KFC is about staying true to the brand’s entrepreneurial spirit while continuing to reinvent for the next generation of customers and ever-changing preferences and consumer habits,” says KFC Australia Chief Marketing Officer Vanessa Rowed.

“We know Australians love their breakfast and following the successful trial of KFC morning meals at Sydney Airport, we’re excited to roll out our new menu and give customers even more ways to enjoy KFC throughout the day.”

The new breakfast menu, which includes “barista-made coffee”, will be available at the participating restaurants from 6am to 10:30am.
