Founder of Pablo & Rusty’s Coffee Roasters and Huskee reusable cups, Saxon Wright, has been appointed as BioPak’s new Chief Sustainability Officer.

In the newly created role, Saxon will lead BioPak’s sustainability strategy, with a central focus of his to be working alongside customers to develop sustainability solutions that suit their needs and strategies.

BioPak CEO, Guy Brent, says the appointment reflects BioPak’s ambition to accelerate its position in the sustainable packaging industry.

“Sustainability has always been at the heart of BioPak, and Saxon’s appointment is a natural progression of that commitment,” he says.

“Having founded Huskee and built a business centred around reuse, innovation and more sustainable consumption, Saxon has already played an important role in advancing the conversation around better solutions.

“Since Huskee joined the BioPak family in 2024, we have seen the opportunity to bring together our shared values and expertise, and Saxon’s leadership will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen the BioPak Group’s impact and shape the future of sustainable packaging in partnership with our customers.”

The continued integration of Huskee into the BioPak portfolio will also be under Saxon’s remit, with decentpackaging and Bygreen also under the company’s banner.

Saxon says collaboration – both between BioPak and other brands in its portfolio, and BioPak and its customers – is critical to driving industry change.

“Sustainability isn’t one-size-fits-all,” he says.

“The most effective solutions start by understanding our customers’ sustainability philosophy or approach and working together to create practical pathways that deliver meaningful impact and create compelling sustainability stories.”

“Growth gives us the opportunity to create greater impact. The more businesses we can support, and the more customers we can help transition to better solutions, the greater the change we can drive.

He adds he is excited to build on BioPak’s existing legacy in the sustainable food packaging space.

“BioPak has built a strong reputation by challenging the status quo and finding more sustainable alternatives and solutions to traditional packaging.

“Our responsibility now is to continue building on that 20-year legacy with discipline, transparency and accountability – ensuring our sustainability commitments translate into real outcomes.”
