Bakers Delight expanding self-serve coffee trial – BeanScene
Australia’s “most successful bakery franchise”, Bakers Delight, is set to start selling coffee in stores around the country.
The franchise’s Camberwell Place location in Melbourne was first announced as a trial location for the concept in 2025, with renovations now underway at locations around Australia for the installation of further coffee machines and self-serve zones.
The Camberwell Place site was also the first of its kind to feature a compact layout of just 38 square metres, with Joint CEO David Christie labelling its style as being “a strategic investment in the future of the brand”.
Nine.com.au has reported a spokesperson from the company has confirmed coffee trials as a potential part of the refurbishments at a range of Bakers Delight locations around the country happening in April and May 2026, including Malvern (Melbourne), Chirnside Park (Melbourne), Unley (Adelaide), Springfield (Adelaide), and Thornton (New South Wales).
The initial Camberwell Place trial featured coffee being made by Franke fully automatic machines, and Grinders coffee beans.
Since being founded in Hawthorn in 1980, Bakers Delight has grown to operate more than 650 locations in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada. More than 500 of those operate in Australia.
