Vietnam’s coffee production for the 2025-26 season is projected to be 10% higher than the previous season, marking a potential record year after four years, despite challenges posed by heavy rainfall and flooding. This forecast comes from Nguyen Nam Hai, the chairman of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association, who emphasized the situation during the Asia International Coffee Conference. The harvest is anticipated to reach its peak in December; however, ongoing storms could jeopardize the quality of the beans. The recent downpours have caused flooding in critical coffee-growing areas such as Dak Lak and Gia Lai, damaging crops and raising alarms as farmers have only completed about 10% of the harvest. Vietnam remains the largest producer of robusta beans globally, which are primarily used in instant coffee and espresso products.
