Phuc Sinh Corp., a coffee and pepper producer, will receive a $25 million loan from SAIL Investments’ Netherlands-based &Green Fund. The fund, established in 2017, invests in agricultural enterprises that meet ESG standards to promote green economic development, environmental protection, and climate change mitigation. Vietnam is one of ten jurisdictions the fund is investing in. Vietnam is under growing pressure to implement ESG practices as global investors push for both profits and sustainability. The Southeast Asian nation aims to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Phuc Sinh exports products to markets including the US, Europe, and Australia and is the Southeast Asian nation’s top pepper exporter, accounting for 8% of the global market share. In late 2022, &Green invested $20 million in Netherlands-based Mercon B.V. to promote a sustainable Vietnam coffee supply chain. The company is committed to improving product quality and contributing to environmental protection and community support.
