Teen Entrepreneur Operates Remarkable Coffee Shop on Chicago’s South Side
Erin Polk, an 18-year-old entrepreneur, opened Erin’s Cup in Chicago’s Morgan Park neighborhood at the age of 17. Growing up with her mother’s catering company, Erin credits her family with helping her achieve her dream. Her mother, Heidi Polk, provided startup money, and her business partner, Khale Hunter, has over 20 years of experience in the coffee business. Erin’s mom, Heidi Polk, believes that supporting youth is crucial, and Erin’s mother, Heidi Polk, supports her. Erin is attending Georgia State University in the fall, majoring in psychology, with her team handling day-to-day operations.
