Coffee Sleeves Celebrate Local Art, Philanthropy

6

The Petersburg Community Foundation has distributed coffee sleeves featuring local artwork to coffee shops in Petersburg, as part of a campaign to plant the seeds of philanthropy. The foundation supports nonprofits in Petersburg with endowment-funded grants, workshops, financial and estate planning, and board trainings. The foundation held an art contest this spring and chose four designs by two local artists, Daniel Tucker and Ashley Lohr. Tucker, who loves living in Petersburg, and Lohr, a long-time resident and high school art teacher, were the winners of the contest. The foundation will announce the winners of $27,479 worth of grants at an event on May 18.
