Coffee Connoisseurs Turn Their Passion Into Profession With Coffee Cart Business – CoffeeTalk
For many people, it’s part of their morning routine, a way to jump-start the day by drinking a cup or two of fresh coffee. For Shauntelle Callahan, it’s a bit more; crafting coffee beverages is a passion and a work of art, ” It’s our bar, it’s our baby, actually.” As the owner and barista of Cafe Calle, along with her husband Vince, she specializes in creating cups of Joe to both satisfy the need for caffeine and delight the taste buds. “Coffee is like an expression. we like to get really creative with our coffee, with the different syrups we use, with the way we style it, and everything,” said Shauntelle Callahan. Their coffee cart businesses started two years ago when the couple couldn’t find any coffee carts in Scranton or Wilkes-Barre. “We both love coffee. I’ve been working in the coffee industry for years, and I don’t know when we got married, we wished we could have had it at our wedding,” said Shauntelle. Now, Cafe Calle, which means ‘Street Coffee,’ can be found at community and private events. “We bring it to you. We have all the options that you would need. Any allergies, any concerns that you have, you tell us, and we make sure it’s not a problem, and then we customize a menu for you and your guests,” Shauntelle explained. Using professional-grade equipment, Shauntelle and Vince serve espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, tea, and hot chocolate. Shauntelle describes the cart as a water cooler of sorts, “It turns into a community space. People will come and they end up hanging out around the cart. They will talk with each other, they will talk with us, which is also great.” The two say they want Cafe Calle to be known for fun and excellence, “We do a lot to make sure that we find the best coffee that not only tastes exceptional, but it’s great for the environment, you know, so it’s, it’s definitely coffee that stands out and you’ll notice the difference when you taste it.”
