Boulder, CO Pilots Free Coffee For Community Contributions Program – CoffeeTalk

Boulder residents are embracing a pay-it-forward trend by offering free coffee to those who contribute to their community. Ruzo Coffee, owned by Jordan McDaniel, is closing its first year in business and aims to bring Boulder’s personality to every cup. McDaniel’s goal is to create a comfortable, safe, and colorful space for everyone, including homeless people and students.

Hanging Coffees Boulder, founded by April Lee, is working to connect good deeds throughout the community by putting a wall in shops like Ruzo and connecting good deeds. The initiative started this fall after Lee asked in a local Boulder Facebook group if there were any places already doing this. Currently, Hanging Coffees is in two coffee shops, Ruzo Coffee and Myco Cafe. Lee hopes to have a strong network of locations around Boulder, with a map available.

She hopes that others may be inspired to start their own pay-it-forward programs or similar initiatives to give back. She believes that people have taken up the call to donate and share with their neighbors, making the initiative a positive change in Boulder.
