As Ube Gains Traction With Major Chains, Starbucks Reserve Cashes In On Trend With Ube Summer Menu – CoffeeTalk
Starbucks has announced its summer menu lineup for its Reserve and Roastery stores in New York City, Chicago, and Seattle. The company is continuing the ube trend with the Ube Espresso Martini, inspired by the Starbucks Reserve Ice Ube Coconut Latte. Ube, a purple yam from Southeast Asia, is often added to desserts for a pop of violet color. The full summer lineup includes the Ube Espresso Martini, Masala Chai Latte, and Crispy Hashbrown Egg Cup. The Ube Espresso Martini is a colorful twist on Starbucks Reserve’s Espresso Martini, while the Masala Chai Latte is a take on the traditional black tea blend from the Assam region of India. The Crispy Hashbrown Egg Cup is a baked jammy egg inside a cup made of hashbrowns, Parmigiano Reggiano, spinach, and fresh herbs. Starbucks also announced a summer menu for its non-Reserve stores, including the return of Summer Berry Refreshers, Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, and Strawberries & Cream Cake Pop. A new Frappuccino flavor has not been confirmed yet.
