With around 16 billion disposable cups discarded globally each year and a mere 2.8% recycling rate in the UK, GoBean emerges as a sustainable alternative by utilizing spent coffee grounds, a byproduct typically ignored by cafés. The innovative sleeves are crafted by blending used coffee grounds with natural binders, creating an eco-friendly material that is both water and heat resistant, effectively protecting the user’s fingers from hot beverages.

This design isn’t just about reimagining waste; GoBean’s sleeves are fully compostable, breaking down within about three weeks. Users even have the option to plant the sleeves, which can decompose and become part of their garden—a true circular solution.
