19-Year-Old Entrepreneur Plans Expansion Of Her Mobile Coffee Business – CoffeeTalk

Ellie McGlothlin, a 19-year-old owner of Shaka Latte, is giving back to her community by providing coffee and supporting local businesses. She started her mobile coffee truck business at 17 and has big plans for the future. Shaka Latte received a $10,000 grant from the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority to help grow and provide employment for community members.

Ellie hopes to have two full-time and five part-time employees within three years. She also gives back to the community by donating coffee and cookies to the local Isaiah 117 House and sourcing most of her products locally. The more money spent in the community, the more money goes back to the community, and Ellie’s goal is to grow the community.

Donna Couch has been part of Ellie’s journey since the beginning, and she has seen her success grow from being the first place she ever set up to getting lines down the parking lot. Ellie is at the Lebanon Farmers Market every Wednesday and aims to stay focused and positive.

In the community, there are few opportunities for young people to find good jobs, so Ellie aims to grow and hopefully have a few brick and mortar locations locally.
