Mozambique Expects To Produce 100 Tonnes Of Coffee This Year Thanks To Italian Investments – CoffeeTalk
Mozambique is set to produce nearly 100 tonnes of coffee this year, thanks to a strategy financed by €4 million from the Italian Cooperation Agency. The government plans to involve 2,200 families in the production of this crop, with an average of around 90 tonnes expected this year. The 2025 Coffee Exhibition (ExpoCafé) is being held as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of Mozambique’s independence, aiming to promote culture and value local producers. The government plans to prioritize research, investment, and technician training to reach around 5,000 hectares of production area in a 10-year plan. Italy has allocated €4 million to strengthen the value chain and enhance production in Mozambique, with training, promotion, and innovation planned for roasters, baristas, cooperatives, and local artisans. The MAIS VALOR II program aims to enhance Mozambican coffee production and promote culture.
