Ethiopia Exceeds Expectations With Over $2.2 Billion In Coffee Exports In The Last 11 Months – CoffeeTalk
Ethiopia’s Coffee and Tea Authority reported that the country generated over USD 2.24 billion in revenue from coffee exports over the past 11 months. Initially planning to export around 280,000 tons, actual exports reached 409,605 tons, exceeding the target by 146% and generating $1 billion more than the previous year. Germany, Saudi Arabia, and the United States were the top destinations for Ethiopian coffee this year, followed by Belgium, China, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Japan, Italy, and Jordan. The Authority is working to increase productivity, ensure quality, modernize marketing practices, and combat illegal trade to further boost revenue from the coffee sector.
