Costa Rica Coffee Exports Up Nearly 2% In 2023/24 Season – CoffeeTalk

Costa Rican coffee exports increased by 1.6% to 1.02 million 60-kg bags for the 2023/2024 harvesting season, according to data from the national coffee institute ICAFE. The increase comes despite a 16% decrease in overall production to 1.25 million bags. September exports rose 55% compared to the same month last year, reaching 105,635 bags. Costa Rica, a smaller coffee producer, typically exports about 85% of its crop to foreign markets. ICAFE estimates that the country’s 2024/2025 crop will likely rise almost 6% to 1.31 million bags. The coffee season in Central America and Mexico runs from October to September.
