Café Grumpy Fights To Stay In Grand Central Terminal, Launches Petition – CoffeeTalk
Café Grumpy, an independently owned coffee company founded in Brooklyn, NY, is reaching out to the community for support in retaining its location within Grand Central Terminal. After years of serving commuters and visitors, Café Grumpy’s lease is up for bid, placing the café in direct competition with large, investor-backed chains.
“As a small business, we can’t match the financial resources of these big chains,” said Caroline Bell, owner of Café Grumpy. “But what we do have is an incredible community that values the personal connections and quality experience we’ve cultivated over the years.”
In an effort to show how much Café Grumpy means to the daily experience at Grand Central Terminal, the team has launched a petition titled “Please Sign & Help Save Cafe Grumpy in Grand Central – We Love Being Part of Your Day!” The petition aims to showcase to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) the strong support from loyal patrons and broader community.
“We believe that our presence adds a unique personal touch to the daily routines of so many,” Bell continued. “This petition is a way for our customers to voice their support and help us as we are forced to bid on the coffee shop we’ve poured so much into building.”
Café Grumpy invites all supporters to sign the petition and share it to get the word out. Every signature counts and can help in Café Grumpy’s fight to keep serving its valued customers at Grand Central.
