Starbucks Abruptly Closes Popular 1st and Pike Store Near Pike Place Market
Starbucks has closed its 1st and Pike location in Seattle during the busiest tourism season, despite plans to reopen the storefront. Starbucks spokesperson Sam Jefferies did not confirm the reason for the temporary closure, but stated that it was temporary despite any plans to reopen the storefront. The store is located just blocks away from the Pike Place Market. Starbucks will continue to serve customers at nearby locations in downtown Seattle, including the Heritage Market stores around the corner. Starbucks partners working at the 1st and Pike store will have the opportunity to continue working at the other Heritage Market stores. The closure comes just weeks after Starbucks announced they would permanently close their Alki location. The store’s signs were removed and windows were covered.
