Labeling Error Causes Keurig To Issue Recall Of Over 80,000 K-Cup Coffee Pods Mislabeled As Decaffeinated – CoffeeTalk
Keurig has issued a recall of over 80,000 K-Cup coffee pods, specifically the McCafé Premium Roast Decaf Coffee variety, due to a labeling error that has resulted in the potential mislabeling of the product as decaffeinated while still containing caffeine. This voluntary recall was elevated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to a Class II risk classification, indicating that consumption of the affected coffee pods may present a health risk to consumers. The defective pods were distributed across California, Indiana, and Nevada, and are identifiable by the “best by” date of November 17, 2026, along with a specific batch number: 5101564894, material number: 5000358463, and ASIN: B07GCNDL91.
As of now, it remains uncertain whether there have been any consumer complaints related to this issue. Keurig Dr Pepper emphasized its commitment to safety and quality in its products, stating that all consumers who purchased the affected K-Cups were directly notified over a month ago regarding the recall and the procedures for receiving replacement products. Additionally, the company confirmed that all affected products sold by Amazon have been returned to them.
