Grinders Coffee has launched a new premium coffee bean range, Café-Q in Coles and selected independent supermarkets nationwide.

The two new blends, Cremello and Darkoko, have been specially selected, batch roasted and blended to deliver a balanced, café-quality coffee experience at home.

“Australians love quality coffee, with the premium and super premium coffee beans segment experiencing double-digit growth, as more consumers turn their kitchens into cafés with the rising popularity of at home barista-style coffee machines,” says Grinders Coffee General Manager Sally Byrne.

“We want our customers to always have a better coffee experience no matter where they are. Our new premium offer takes that experience to the next level.”

Darkoko will be Grinders Coffee’s first dark roast for retail. It is a strong and intense, five-origin blend of Brazil Santos, Papua New Guinea, Costa Rica HGA, Mexico HG, and Indian Robusta coffee beans with a heavy body as an espresso. Darkoko features notes of dark cocoa and dried fruit that rise above the sweetness of milk leaving a nutty, malty aftertaste.

Cremello is a mild, smooth, and balanced, three-origin blend of Brazil Santos, Papua New Guinea AX and Mexico HG coffee beans. It is a well-rounded and versatile blend with notes of velvety milk chocolate and caramel with a nutty, honeycomb aftertaste. Cremello is roasted for optimal sweetness and complexity as a black coffee, and creamy when paired with milk, delivering a smooth and balanced coffee.

Grinders Café-Q blends are available in 500-gram and 1-kilogram packs at Coles or in selected independent supermarkets.

Having poured some of Australia’s first espresso in Lygon Street, Melbourne in 1962, Grinders has been delivering quality coffee for over 60 years and has evolved into a quality roaster supplying cafés, restaurants, and leading retailers across Australia.

“We have combined all these years of expert coffee sourcing and roasting knowledge in the creation of the Café-Q range,” says Grinders Coffee’s Master Roaster Giuseppe Cianchi.

“Starting with high-grade green coffee beans, we’ve specially selected the fine quality origins that will give us the right balance and intensity. We have then small batch roasted them, in line with current café roast and flavour profile trends before blending them to achieve the finest aromas and flavours.”
