The Ministry of Agriculture in Fiji is prioritizing the revival of the cocoa and coffee industries, focusing on agro-processing to strengthen the sector and achieve local production. Minister Vatimi Rayalu believes this will significantly benefit the country’s agricultural production. The ministry has started planting 300 acres of cocoa in Nasautoka, Wainibuka, which should be a great start for the market and production process. The ministry is also exploring the production of cocoa and tea in the North, with markets for coffee in Cakaudrove and Taveuni, and cocoa and tea production in Bua.
