Coffee Board Of India Working With Producers On EUDR Compliance – CoffeeTalk
The Coffee Board is working with producers to comply with EU Deforestation Regulation norms, which aim to prevent the import of certain goods contributing to deforestation and forest degradation on the EU market. The EUDR will come into effect from December 2025 and covers products such as coffee, leather, oil cake, wood furniture, paper, and paperboard. The board is increasing awareness about these issues and ensuring farmers are not impacted. India’s coffee exports are experiencing healthy growth rates, with exports increasing by 40% to USD 1.8 billion in 2024-25 and by 25% year-on-year to USD 403.67 million during April-May this fiscal. The growth is due to higher demand for Robusta coffee in global markets. India is Asia’s third-largest producer and exporter of coffee, growing Arabica and Robusta varieties. The board is also working with Indian Missions abroad to increase exports. The country exports to over 120 countries, including Italy, Russia, the UAE, Germany, and Turkey
