Brazil’s Bioinputs Market Boasts Four Times Global Average Growth, Research Shows

Brazilian farmers are increasingly adopting bioinputs, with an average annual growth rate of 21% in the last three years, four times higher than in other countries. Retail sales of biocontrol tools in Brazil reached 5 billion reais ($924 million) in the 2023/2024 season, according to Croplife, a Brazilian lobby representing biotech, chemical, and bioinput companies. Bioinputs are a biological solution to modern agriculture problems, acting as an alternative to pesticides and fertilizers to control pests and improve crop yields. Brazil’s bioinputs are mainly applied on soybean, corn, and sugarcane fields, but cotton and coffee farmers are also using them to a lesser extent. Mato Grosso state, Brazil’s largest farm products supplier, has championed the use of bioinputs, representing 33% of the domestic market.
