15

The Akıncılar melon, a native to the Akıncılar district of Sivas in central Turkey, has been incorporated into Turkish coffee, creating a unique and flavorful experience. Mayor Murat Sevin has initiated the process of blending the melon with coffee, with the aim of obtaining a patent and making it available to the public. The melon-infused coffee is now in mass production, and the town’s mayor aims to showcase the melon to the wider world.

The melon has been a brand for many years, and the district produces an exceptionally delicious melon due to its soil’s fertility. The district cultivates the melon naturally and organically without using any fertilizers, and they anticipate a harvest of approximately 5,000 tons of melons this year.

Sevin aims to make the melon a brand and give it as gifts to the community. The district’s Melon Festival is scheduled for Aug. 23 to 25, and the town is excited to welcome visitors to experience the unique and flavorful taste of the melon. The melon-infused coffee is expected to be a success for the district, and the town is looking forward to the upcoming Melon Festival.
