SCA Announces World of Coffee Europe 2027 to be Hosted in Lisbon – CoffeeTalk
World of Coffee Europe is scheduled to occur from June 17-19, 2027, at the Lisbon Exhibition and Congress Centre (FIL), making it the first instance of this global event being hosted in Portugal. This gathering is part of a series aimed at uniting the specialty coffee industry, emphasizing coffee excellence, fostering business growth, and enhancing professional development through strategic networking, educational initiatives, and innovative collaborations.
The chosen venue, FIL, is strategically located in Parque das Nações, a lively and well-connected area in Lisbon. The facility features modern infrastructure including plenary halls and breakout spaces, alongside excellent amenities and accessibility to Lisbon’s international airport, accommodations, transportation, dining, and cultural experiences. This setting is conducive to both international business and cooperative endeavors.
Recognized as one of Europe’s premier destinations, Lisbon’s cultural richness and connectivity bolster its status in the global coffee community. Yannis Apostolopoulos, CEO of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), emphasized the city’s role as a nexus for cultural and trade exchanges crucial to the specialty coffee value chain. The event is seen as a fertile ground for innovative discussions that could drive the future of the industry towards sustainability and resilience.
Lisbon’s historical coffee culture, combined with a burgeoning community of roasters and baristas, marks it as the ideal venue for showcasing high-level specialty coffee competitions. World of Coffee Lisbon 2027 will feature three major contests: the World Latte Art Championship, the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, and the Cezve/Ibrik Championship, with live competitions held on the exhibit floor to crown the finest talent in each category.
BWT water+more has been announced as the Official Event Host Sponsor for World of Coffee Lisbon 2027, reaffirming its commitment to the SCA and the global coffee community. Dr. Frank Neuhausen, General Manager of BWT, expressed enthusiasm for continuing their partnership, pledging to provide high-quality water solutions to enhance the coffee experience for exhibitors and attendees alike.
Supported by Turismo de Lisboa, the event is anticipated to attract a large assembly of coffee professionals from across Europe and beyond, eager to engage, collaborate, and innovate within the realm of specialty coffee. Additionally, the SCA is open for inquiries from potential exhibitors and sponsors, underscoring the comprehensive involvement expected in this upcoming event.
