Colombia experienced its best coffee production year in over thirty years, achieving a 17% year-on-year increase to 14.87 million 60-kg bags during the period from October 2024 to September 2025, surpassing the anticipated annual output of 14 million bags, as reported by the National Federation of Coffee Growers. This remarkable performance was attributed to favorable weather conditions and the effects of crop renewal. However, looking ahead to the 2025/2026 coffee cycle, federation manager German Bahamon indicated that lower production is expected due to the physiological responses of coffee trees and significant rainfall in the initial half of the year.

Colombia maintains approximately 840,000 hectares dedicated to coffee cultivation, with around 540,000 families depending on this crop for their income. In September, the output of washed arabica coffee rose 7% compared to the previous year, totaling 1.14 million bags, though it saw a decrease from 1.24 million bags in August. Additionally, coffee exports increased by 6% in September, reaching 1.06 million bags. The value of coffee exports significantly surged by 79.7% year-on-year from January to August, amounting to $3.67 billion, primarily driven by high international coffee prices.
