Starbucks Baristas Are Increasingly Unionizing In The Company's Home State – CoffeeTalk

Starbucks workers in Washington have unionized at least 33 Starbucks, including the Sodo cafe and Capitol Hill Reserve Roastery. This is the result of an organizing effort that began in Buffalo, New York in 2021. Starbucks workers across the city began a renewed push to unionize these coffee shops. Jaz Brisack, one of the lead organizers, began working with unions while they were a student at the University of Mississippi. They are also the authors of “Get on the Job and Organize: Standing Up for a Better Workplace and a Better World,” which was released earlier this year.
