Starbucks is undergoing a major renovation of all its U.S. stores to regain customers after the Covid pandemic. The company’s sales have fallen for the last five consecutive quarters, and to win back customers, Starbucks is overhauling all its stores and emphasizing comfort. The company’s COO, Mike Grams, explains that the redesigns are reversing the decisions made in recent years. The new stores will feature comfortable seating, long cozy booths, and plenty of cushioned seats, as well as rustic wood-inspired decor. Photos of a remodeled store in Bridgehampton, N.Y., show long cozy booths and plenty of cushioned seats, while photos from another store in East Hampton, N.Y., have similar wood accents and cushioned couches but with a brighter appearance thanks to white walls. While larger locations have ample seating, it’s unclear how the redesign will take hold in denser urban locales like New York City, where stores are smaller and have less space to work with. However, the famous purple armchairs will not be returning.
