Robots Do The Brewing At CERĒS Coffee Shop – CoffeeTalk
The Jones Graduate School of Business has opened CERĒS Robo Coffee Shop, a new coffee spot that uses artificial intelligence to make its drinks. The CERĒS Robot Coffee Barista is a vending machine that uses artificial intelligence to prepare drinks, instead of employing baristas. Despite initial skepticism about the robot making your morning coffee, the accessibility and luxurious-tasting drinks offered at CERĒS make it a good alternative to Chaus and Dandelion Cafe.
Located on the first floor near McNair Hall, the CERĒS Robo Coffee Shop offers 20 different drinks and customization options such as toppings and syrup. Classic drinks include vanilla latte and americano, while specialty drinks include the CORA, an iced dragon fruit oat milk latte, and the signature CERĒS drink, a salted caramel cinnamon toffee latte.
The line at CERĒS can get long during busy hours, but each drink is crafted in 60 seconds or less, minimizing wait time. Brown College freshman Anna Perrin was excited to visit the Robo coffee shop with her friends, as she was previously unaware of the establishment at Rice.
The iced caramel latte and chai tea latte exceeded expectations, with the iced caramel latte offering a great balance of rich coffee flavor, milkiness, and sweet caramel, and the chai tea latte being perfect for the fall season. Both drinks are reasonably priced at $4.25.
Unlike Dandelion Cafe or Chaus, CERĒS Robo Coffee Shop provides quality drinks without a lengthy wait time, making it a great option for students looking for convenience and delicious coffee.
