This Jitter-Free Mushroom Coffee Powder Is My New Favorite Morning Drink (and It Takes Less Than a Minute to Make!)

65

I’ve always been that friend who believes caffeine has no effect on them. It took a few mornings of experimenting with various beverages (other than my usual cup of condensed French press) for me to realize that I’ve been wrong all along. I’d be lying if I claimed that coffee had no effect on me whatsoever.

I recently discovered a mushroom-infused matcha tea that provided me with steady, sustained energy throughout the day without any peaks or valleys, unlike other caffeine-containing beverages. However, I am a coffee person through and through, and while I enjoy switching up my routine with the occasional cup of matcha or chai latte, my morning tastebuds consistently demand coffee! So, when I was given the opportunity to test out Ryze, I immediately accepted. The adaptogen-infused coffee powder had all the benefits of the jitter-free morning beverage I had been drinking, in addition to a delicious coffee flavor. I’d call that a win-win situation!

Unlike other coffee brewing techniques, Ryze is incredibly simple to prepare. In fact, it is even simpler than matcha, as no special whisk is required. Because I enjoy iced beverages, I simply pour a spoonful of the powder into my glass of oat milk (my new favorite dairy-free alternative), add a healthy spoonful of local honey (optional, but I have a sweet tooth), and whip it with my milk frother. No milk steamer? There have been times when I didn’t have a blender on hand, but the powder blended easily with a simple stir (Ryze even includes a wooden spoon with your order).

In addition to coffee, the coffee powder contains a variety of adaptogenic mushrooms, such as cordyceps, lion’s mane, reishi, and turkey tail. The mushrooms are extremely rich in antioxidants and vitamins and, as far as I can tell (I’m not a health expert! ), keep you alert and focused throughout the day. No 3 p.m. slump or 9 a.m. hyper-mode, despite my inability to comment on the science behind those claims. I have been converted.
