A Missouri City coffee shop, Beanhere Coffee, has been accused of being bullied by a neighboring Starbucks. The coffee shop shared a video on Instagram, where the Starbucks manager returned one of Beanhere’s signs, claiming that the Starbucks manager was protecting their property. The sign was placed on an egress or grass patch between the Starbucks drive-thru and Beanhere’s shop. Starbucks representatives stated that they reached out to the plaza’s landlord to determine which business could use the egress and how. In the future, Starbucks representatives said the signs will not be removed. Beanhere’s Instagram post has resonated with thousands online, with over 6,000 likes and more than a few critics of Starbucks. The cafe posted a message of gratitude in response to the support, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support. The incident highlights the need for businesses to be aware of the potential negative impact of bullying from Starbucks.
